Austenitic stainless steel like 304 stainless steel compared with carbon steel, has the following characteristics:
1) It has high electrical resistivity, about 5 times over the carbon steel.
2) Its linear expansion coefficient is 40% larger than carbon steel, and with the temperature rise, the value of stainless steel screw linear expansion coefficient increases accordingly.
3) It has low thermal conductivity, roughly is 1/3 of carbon steel.
Whether the stainless steel plate or heat-resistant steel plate, austenitic steel plate has the best overall performance. Because of its good strength, excellent plasticity and not high stiffness, it is widely used in many fields.
Austenitic stainless steel is similar to most other metal materials, its tensile strength, yield strength and hardness are strengthened with the temperature decreases, while the plasticity is weakened with the temperature decreases. Its tensile strength in the temperature range of 15 ~ 80 ° C increases more uniform.
More importantly, along with temperature going down, the toughness of stainless steel rivet nut weakens very slowly, therefore, stainless steel at low temperatures can maintain adequate plasticity and toughness. Heat resistance refers to the thermal stability and thermostrength, which is anti-oxidation or resistance to gas corrosion, maintains good strength in high temperatures.
